The Tiberium Refinery is the source of income, for both the Global Defense Initiative, and the Brotherhood of Nod. It processes Tiberium for a steady, 2 credit per second per player, income. A Tiberium Harvester is also deployed from the Airstrip, to make trips to a designated location to collect Tiberium and return to the Tiberium Refinery. When a harvester docks with a refinery, it rewards every player on a team with credits.
Credits are used to purchase everything a team can produce from it's purchase terminals, beside each faction's 5 free infantry classes.
Strategy
This structure's loss is more effective and devastating, when it occurs earlier in the game, before a team's players can build a vast wealth. Destroying it later in the game, may still leave a team with a large reserve wealth, which they can rely on almost indefinitely, to upkeep peak production of advanced infantry and vehicles.
