Appearance

Hotwire is a female wearing brown camo pants, a blue shirt and a blue beret. She has tactical facepaint under her eyes.

Function

Hotwire is unique on GDI as she is the only GDI Infantry that carries an Advanced Repair Gun, 2 Remote C4, 2 Timed C4 and 3 Proximity C4. Hotwires are considered a straight upgrade of Engineer on GDI side, and a direct counterpart of Technician

Strategy

Usage

Hotwire is also a necessity against any enemy team rush and infiltrations. Being the only GDI Infantry to have an Advanced Repair Gun, she is vital against vehicle rushes. Her repairing power on a Master Control Terminal should not be underestimated. A group of 3 or 4 Hotwires can keep a building alive against most vehicle rushes.

Hotwire isare also the only class to plant mines. Hotwires that uses Proximity C4 needs to take account on the tactics of using the mines, as wrong and overabundant placement can lead to heavily defenseless base.

Counter

Any strategy against Engineer will work against Hotwire. However, Hotwire has more C4s in total, making her lethal inside your perimeter. Hotwire is also stronger than regular Engineer, albeit having the same firearm. Be wary of any Proximity C4 she plants and those she disarms in a much quicker pace. The only warning you will get if Hotwire infiltrates a building is the decrement of mines in the counter. A good Hotwire detonates all their C4s at roughly the same time, causing the building to blow up straight from 100% to 0%.

Vehicles should keep their distance from Hotwires as their C4 supply is enough to destroy most unrepaired healthy tank.

When repelling a tank assault, Hotwire will need to be taken out first, since she repairs friendlies quickly and can sustain a tank through a lot of punishments. Most tanks are piloted by Hotwires for this capability.
