Gobi is a small map, and infantry and vehicles will clash often in the middle, possibly from both sides of the big rock. Being a small map and basically devoid of cover, sneaking into the enemy base in a match with many players will be nigh impossible from the main paths. The best option would be employing the small infantry paths for cover and hiding behind rocks and cactuses when in the middle section of the map.
