Complex is a map for the Command & Conquer game mode.

Appearance

Snowy plains, tall trees, low hills, and Tiberium fields shape the battlefield above the ground; however, an intricate underground tunnel system, with plenty of exits and intersections, where one can get disoriented easily without proper knowledge, is the reason why this map is named "Complex".

Analysis

Infantry paths: Each base has cliffs overlooking them, which are good sniping points. There are also ramps leading to the top hill.

However, the main path for infantry is undoubtedly the subterranean complex area; with 2 entrances from each base, several exits towards hill and vehicle paths, and a plethora of tunnel passageways in the complex itself, which has a upper level in the largest chambers of the complex.

Vehicle paths: Three choices for vehicles: right path (left for Nod) leading to the Silo, central path going under the hill, and a left path. In addition, vehicles can drive onto the hill from the right or the left path. All the paths lead to each base from different directions.

Mystery Crates: A crate appears in the center on each vehicle path (right, center, left, and top hill); and about four more appear scattered in the subterranean complex itself, two in the large chamber and the other two in the passageways.

Harvested Tiberium field: each faction harvests the field directly behind their Refineries. There is also a large field that covers all the vehicle paths except the top hill, leaving only a middle patch of land near to the hill unaffected.

Strategy

Battlefield control

Taking the central hill will allow tanks to shell the enemy base, and snipers to shot on infantries; such should be the first priority. Other vehicles should go towards the Silo path, to secure extra income and protect the forces on the hill should the enemy try to flank them. Any remaining vehicles can be sent on the left path or the central path below the hill.

The subterranean complex is too large to possibly take control over it without leaving other paths unprotected. It is better to employ patrols rather than blocking sneaky routes for the opponent in this map.

Sneaking options

Complex offers plenty choices for infiltration: underground tunnels being the first choice due to its numerous passages to reach each base. After coming out from the complex, there are some rocks between the entrance and the base that players can hide behind. Another way to reach the enemy base if going around the Silo and sticking near the rocks for cover. Lastly, the hill ramps and sniping cliffs are other ways to get to the base without going through Tiberium, albeit said routes lead to the front of each bases, which are high traffic areas for enemy operations.

After reaching the base, there are lots of trees, bushes, hilly ground, and rocks on the base perimeter for player to hide and wait. The front of the refinery (where the Harvester docking bay is located) is also a good location to hide, due to its position at the back of the map. From there, a skilled infiltrator, given the opportunity, will be able to sabotage the opponent Refinery.

Stealth Tank and Stealth Black Hand will have an easy time staying invisible inside the base, due to the large perimeter aforementioned. They can also climb on top of some rock formations.
