Appearance
The Light Tank is a trapezoid-shaped tank, colored red at the edges and grey in the inside, with an inclined frontal body. It has a small cannon mounted on its back.
Damage table
Base Damage | Headshot Multiplier | Kevlar Armor Multiplier | Flak Armor Multiplier | Lazarus Armor Multiplier | Heavy Armor Multiplier | Light Armor Multiplier | Aerial Armor Multiplier | Building Multiplier | MCT Multiplier |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
60 | x10 | x1 | x0.5 | x1 | x0.85 | x0.85 | x0.85 | x1.56 | x6.24 |
Full damage will be inflicted only if the target body is struck completely by the shell.
Higher Veterancy ranks will increase the base damage by a specified multiplier.
Veterancy
Both the main weapon and the tank itself get bonuses with veteran levels:
Sprint Speed | Traverse Speed | Range | Reload speed | Damage | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Veteran | +10% | +10% | +5% | +5% | +10% |
Elite | +20% | +20% | +10% | +10% | +25% |
Heroic | +30% | +30% | +15% | +15% | +50% |
- Sprint Speed: tank movement while sprinting, does not improve base movement speed.
- Traverse speed: how fast the tank can turn while sprinting.
- Range: How far the tank can shoot.
- Reload speed: % reduction of the base reload of the tank at Recruit rank, 0.65 seconds.
Function
The Light Tank is Nod's equivalent to GDI's Medium Tank. It possesses less health and firepower than a Medium Tank, but it compensates with increased speed.
Strategy
Usage
Similar to a Medium Tank, the Light Tank is a versatile vehicle in the Brotherhood's arsenal that is usually used defensively. While Flame Tanks or Stealth Tanks are better options in besieging the opponent's base, Light Tanks are more suited to fight other vehicles and hold crucial chokepoints in the battlefield. Normally, a Light Tank will not win a fight one-on-one against a Medium Tank unless backed up with Engineers or Technicians repairing it; however, a veteran driver will make use of the Light Tank's increased speed to avoid the Medium Tank's shells, while the latter's slow speed will not help much in avoiding Light Tank shells.
Counters
Anything that counters Medium Tanks will work on Light Tanks. A group of anti-tank infantries can take on the vehicles as long as the repairs aren't heavy. Consider employing snipers to assassinate the Engineers and Technicians, especially since a Light Tank will not offer decent cover compared to a Medium Tank. Note that their increased speed will make them more capable of running over infantries, and more prone to avoid incoming Airstrikes.
Trivia
- The slope-shaped front of a Light Tank can be driven upon with other vehicles, this will act as a ramp and place the vehicle on top of the Light Tank.
- Thus it is advisable to drive a Light Tank backwards, in order to show the solid-rectangular back to prevent being driven onto.
- It is also advisable to drive backwards since its cannon is mounted on the back, in order to maximize range and be less exposed to enemy fire.
