The Cobretti AR-70 Raptor Automatic Rifle is the main weapon for both Global Defense Initiative and the Brotherhood of Nod's basic soldiers.

Appearance

The Automatic Rifle appears as an bulky assault rifle featuring a heat-sink on the front, a middle part above the handle where bullets are expelled, and a small scope connected with an ammunition round counter mounted on top of the rifle. Clips are loaded into a black box-shaped object under the rifle. The Brotherhood of Nod also gave the weapon a black overcoat with a light shade of black camouflage around the receiver, whereas GDI gave the weapon a desert tan color around many different parts of the weapon.

Damage Table

Base Damage Headshot Multiplier Kevlar Armor Multiplier Flak Armor Multiplier Lazarus Armor Multiplier Heavy Armor Multiplier Light Armor Multiplier Aerial Armor Multiplier Building Multiplier MCT Multiplier
8 x3 x0.7 x1.3 x1 x0.08 x0.2333331 x0.35 x0.0035 x0.525

Full damage will be inflicted only if the target body is struck completely by the bullet.

Higher Veterancy ranks will increase the base damage by a specified multiplier.

Function

The Automatic Rifle fires high amounts of low damaging bullets. It is considered the weakest weapon in the game, albeit it can be used to finish weakened opponent infantries, especially with ample clips that can be "sprayed and prayed" over. It does basically no damage to vehicles or buildings. Even on the Master Control Terminal, its damage is rather low.

History

The Corbretti AR-70 was developed during the first Tiberium War by the Global Defense Initiative. Since its creation, it has undergone many different modifications including design overhauls, magazine increases, an added holographic sight to assist with aiming, and an ammunition meter to make it easier for troops in live firefights to see how much ammunition they have left before they are require to reload.
