The Tarantula Laser Chaingun is the main weapon for the Brotherhood of Nod's Laser Chaingunners.

Appearance

The Laser Chaingun features three miniature Obelisks of Light inside rotating barrels to rapidly fire lasers from, three handles, one used to carry the weapon when not employed, and an ammunition round counter along with battery repositories on the top. Clips are made of batteries that are loaded into the top part of the chaingun.

Damage Table

Base Damage Headshot Multiplier Kevlar Armor Multiplier Flak Armor Multiplier Lazarus Armor Multiplier Heavy Armor Multiplier Light Armor Multiplier Aerial Armor Multiplier Building Multiplier MCT Multiplier
16 x2 x0.9 x0.9 x0.9 x0.22 x0.25 x0.3 x0.25 x0.625

Full damage will be inflicted only if the target body is struck completely by the laser.

Higher Veterancy ranks will increase the base damage by a specified multiplier.

Function

The Laser Chaingun rapidly fires streams of laser beams. It is considered one of the strongest weapon in the game, since it is effective against everything, does not have projectile travel time, has a high damage output all along, and it can be "sprayed and prayed" over, with the only drawback being the short range of the weapon. Its potential excels over the Tiberium Automatic Rifle, and it only falls back compared to the Volt Automatic Rifle.

Lasers appear as straight bright lines, along with being quite loud, so even after firing once, the wielder will give away their position almost immediately.
