A list of possible in-game controls are shown below. Most of the keyboard bindings may be changed by going into Menu >Settings >Imput, while others can be changed with console by typing setbind followed by a key and a command, or by altering the configuration files in the Renegade X> UDKGame> Config folder.
Character Controls
The default key bindings for controls related to the player character are shown below.
- W/Up: Move forward
- A: Strafe left (Infantry, aerial Vehicles, and HMRLS)/ Turn vehicle left/ Turn vehicle wheels to the left (does not move without pressing forward or backward; only on wheeled Vehicles)
- S/Down: Move backward
- D: Strafe right (Infantry, aerial Vehicles, and HMRLS)/ Turn vehicle right/ Turn vehicle wheels to the right (does not move without pressing forward or backward; only on wheeled Vehicles)
- MouseMovement Turn around/ Turn vehicle (aerial Vehicles, and HMRLS)/ Turn vehicle turret
- Left Turn left (Infantry, aerial Vehicles, and HMRLS)/ Turn vehicle turret left
- Right Turn Right (Infantry, aerial Vehicles, and HMRLS)/ Turn vehicle turret right
- Space: Jump/ Deploy Parachute (only if falling from high altitudes)/ Ascend (on aerial Vehicles)/ Burrow (on Tick Tank)
- C: Duck (double tap to assume a permanent crouching position until the key is pressed again)/ Drift (on wheeled Vehicles)/ Descend (on aerial Vehicles)
- LeftAlt: Walk
- Shift: Sprint (consumes Infantry's stamina, cannot sprint without it or while firing; double tap to keep sprinting until the key is pressed again or stamina runs out)/ Boost (Vehicles will move faster)
- LeftMouseButton: Primary Fire
- RightMouseButton: Secondary Fire (only applicable on weapons and Vehicles with alternate fire)
- X: Grenade/ Ability (switches current weapon to a grenade or other sub weapons)
- R: Reload

- MouseScrollUp: Switch to the previous weapon
- MouseScrollDown: Switch to the next weapon
- 1: Switch to side-weapon/ Switch to the driver seat (Vehicles)
- 2: Switch to primary weapon/ Switch to the passenger seat (most Vehicles/ man Chinook left gun)
- 3: Switch to Timed C4/ Switch to the passenger seat #3 (APC/ man Chinook right gun)
- 4: Switch to Remote C4/ Anti Tank Mine/ Switch to the passenger seat #4 (APC/Chinook)
- 5: Switch to Proximity C4/ Utility grenades/ Switch to the passenger seat #5 (APC/Chinook)
- 6: Switch to Purchasable Items (Superweapon Beacons/Airstrikes/Repair Tools)
- E: Use (used to access Purchase Terminals and to enter/exit Vehicles)
- L: Lock/Unlock a bound vehicle's driver seat (only you can drive it while it is locked); Hold L to bind/unbind a vehicle.
Purchase Screen Controls
The default key bindings for controls related to the screen of Purchase Terminals are shown below.
- 1-9: Selects an option in the purchase screen
- C: Selects "Characters" in the purchase screen
- V: Selects "Vehicles" option in the purchase screen
- O: Selects "Items" options in the purchase screen
- R: Selects "Refill" option in the purchase screen
- Enter: Confirm selection in the purchase screen
- Escape: Exits the purchase screen
- Backspace: Goes back toward previous options in the purchase screen
Communication Controls
The default key bindings for controls related to communication are shown below.
- Z: Send a Voice Taunt
- Ctrl: Access first set of Radio Commands
- LeftAlt: Access second set of Radio Commands
- Ctrl + LeftAlt: Access third set of Radio Commands
- 1-9: Selects an option in Radio Commands
- V: Selects "vote" options in Radio Commands
- F1: Vote Yes towards a vote
- F2: Vote No towards a vote
- N: Selects "donate credits" options in Radio Commands
- Q: Spotting
- F3/T: Access Global Chat
- F4/Y: Access Team Only Chat
- F5/U: Access Private Chat (type the recipient's nickname and then the message)
- Enter: Send message
UI and Visual Controls
The default key bindings for controls related to the UI and visual settings are shown below.
- F: Switch to first/third person view
- V: Show Teamstatus (shows the current location of the teammates, their credits, and if they are Engineers or Advanced Engineers. Also shows the health value of each team's Harvester)
- O: Toggles Objective Window (displays information about the team; only applicable in servers with the Commander Mod)
- Tab: Access Scoreboard screen (Shows current Buildings status, and information about every player in the game)
- K: Toggle Mini-Scoreboard (The one on the upper-right corner that shows players' points; if turned off, it only shows your score)
- J: Team Info Box
- M: Display Overview Map (Shows all the map, along with allied Infantry, Vehicles, and Superweapon Beacons)
- F7/F8: Switches the screen view between different visual configurations
- F11: Toggle Windowed/Fullscreen
Other Controls
The default key bindings for miscellaneous controls are shown below.
- Escape: Access Menu (Pauses the game in Skirmish mode)
- ~: Access Console
- Enter: Confirm selection/Execute Console command
- Up: Displays the previous Console command you typed in the window(includes chat messages)
- Down: Displays the next Console command you typed in the window(includes chat messages)
- F9: Take a screenshot (they are saved inside Renegade X> UDKGame> Screenshots folder)
